Participation

The Works Councils Act (WOR) requires companies to shape employee participation appropriately. Depending on the size of an enterprise, employee participation plays a role to a greater or lesser extent. An entrepreneur who maintains an enterprise that, as a rule, employs at least 50 people is obliged to establish a works council. A works council is by far the best-known phenomenon in the field of co-determination. In smaller companies, employee participation is mainly shaped by a staff representation or staff meeting.
